Another MAc app bundle for little money. Especially Mellel and Bookends are very interesting AND cheap if you are writing scientific papers.
I stumbled upon Wunderlist via Mac’s App Shop. Looks great & very user friendly. I tried out a bunch of ‘to-do-list apps’ but never got hooked. Let’s see how this goes.
The good thing: It works on any system and is for free. A plus: You can invite people to your lists (e.g., when collaborating).
Neat!

there’s simply too much things to know and consider when it comes to photography. I guess my problem is that I am not patient enough. I bought Adobe Lightroom and Apple’s Aperture for organizing and developing/editing my pictures. Aperture because I used iPhoto for the last 9 years or so and I really like the Places and Faces features it offers. Also, I easily (although very slowly!) was able to combine my two (iMac and Macbook Pro) libraries into one Aperture library. Lightroom I got because my favorite photographer and mentor (*cough*) uses it and so I quickly can ask him stuff. Probably because of it’s familiarity (it’s very similar to iPhoto) I prefer Aperture over Lightroom when it comes to its GUI. However, it seems to be much slower and less responsive (despite me upgrading my working memory in both computers).
Yesterday I ‘developed’ my first couple of pictures, although I am only really satisfied with one. It’s a nice shot of my ‘for lack of a better word’ nephew. So far I haven’t heard of the mom, so I do not know whether she likes it or not…
Anyway, soonish I will get the hang of it and post some pictures.
Until then take care,
yours sm
PS: The software problem (which one to get and which settings to use etc.) is by far the smaller one. The main one is still which picture to shoot and which settings to take. I REALLY need to read up on the technical stuff and some basics about lighting and composition…
PPS: I wish I already had done that!!!
Yesterday I basically forgot the Apple event, but after looking some of the media coverage I got even more curious and skimmed through the video on Apple’s website. Great stuff!
I know a lot of people expect new hardware and are disappointed if that is not provided but I really dig the new software features. Lion looks incredible and all of the the features demonstrated look useful and like something that will make life easier. Especially Mail, by far the program I use the most, looks awesome and like a huge improvement over the last couple of versions.
iOS 5 looks OK too but since I am not a hardcore user of that. However, what is quite exciting is iCloud—it makes the second most used and cherished software on my computers (i.e., Dropbox) obsolete (99$ less a year:)) and improves vastly on this software (adding sync of not only files but of basically everything)! I’m quite looking forward to it!

No time for some real updates. So this is all I can manage right now. Interesting software for your beloved Mac on a ridiculously low price. Perhaps of interest for some of you?
I completely forgot to mention to you that the new MacHeist (nano) bundle has been released last week. It is a smaller one (hence the nano) and has no programs that I personally am totally interested in, but as always, you get an awful lot for very little money (up to 10 programs for 20 dollars). Also, 25% of the money goes to charity (as always). So, why don’t you have a look?

I am kind of exited since the next MacHeist (I believe it is the 4th) is coming next week.
Lots of mostly cool Mac programs (usually including at least 1-2 really good ones) for a bargain price. Also, they do these kind of neat games, riddles etc. where you get tons of shareware progs for free as well, before the sale of the actual bundle starts. Looking forward to it;)
Hey there,
one of my favorite apps (that I use EVERY day) is sold for ridiculously low 9.95$ right now. Go and get it;)
Forklift is a file manager & FTP client that has a dual-pane view (like Norton Commander on the PC) and tabs. You can connect to your FTP (e.g., for your personal website) and drag and drop files. There’s a lot of other cool features I don’t even know about (syncing etc.).
Highly recommended (especially for this cheap price),
sm
PS: I don’t get anything for this, so there’s no hiden agenda:p
Jepp, just one more day and the whole bundle will be gone forever:/ It’s almost certain that all programs will be included, that means, even Espresso, the HTML/CSS killer editor will be part of the bundle (it costs 80 bucks alone). (It’s from the makers of CSS Edit!!!)
Also, MacHeist included Times into the bundle. A REALLY cool RSS/feed-reader. Check it out:p
If you think about buying the bundle please use this link here! Thanks!
Best and have fun,

Dear all,
MacHeist finally released their new bundle. For 39$ you get 12 cool Appz, plus one game collection, plus one free App (regardless of what you purchase). AND you do something good, too. 25% are donated to charity organizations. You can chose to distribute it evenly, but you can also chose one single organization you prefer.
So, what are you waiting for?
AND PLEASE, use my link here;) (That’ll give me some extra, too.)
All the best
