New mixtape online
To celebrate my the rejection of my manuscript I mixed another tape on 8tracks. Check it out on the website and comment on it, or listen to it while reading on the blog (and comment on it). A little bit disappointed, sm

8tracks again
So far so good. After some time-consuming attempts to upload single files to 8tracks I found out about the uploader they provide (mac only). BTW, it’s on their blog: 8tracks.tumblr.com. In any case mac users reading this should DOWNload the UPloader and start uploading their playlists to 8tracks. I am curious to listen to your “mixtapes”. Hugs & probably some kisses, sm

First Mix on 8tracks.com
8tracks is this new internet service where you can upload your mp3 and “mix them” for your friend. At least 8 songs are needed with no more than  2 songs from the same artist. You could say it’s the web 2.0 version of a mixtape. So, here’s my first. More or less quick and dirty ad without my complete mp3 library (only the small one on the notebook was used). Mostly I used...

Uploaded blog theme
Yesterday night I set up a wordpress server (?) on my personal website. Right now the old design is still there, but if you know where to look you will see also this blog design. It’s taken from www.plaintext.org, a website which mission it is to use only text /minimal designs for blogs. Anyway, I am not sure if it really fits for a “professional website”. Of course one could a)...

"Dear John Doe's family..."
This would be the perfect way to start the letter of apology that George W. Casey Jr. (Chief of Staff General of the U.S. Army) will personally write to the 7000 family members of fallen soldiers that recently received a letter by the US Army addressing them as John Doe. This leaves me just speechless. sm

Terry Pratchett
Although this may not be the most recent news I just found out that one of my favorite writers of all time, namely Terry Pratchett, suffers from early-onset Alzheimer’s desease (see his entry at wikipedia for details, also see the DiscWiki for tons of information about him and the Discworld). This is a real tragic! I really hope that - despite this terrible illness - he will be able to...

reset NOW
Yesterday I wrote some lines about what we could do better in 2009. Although I am thinking about these thinks for quite a while now, it took me some time to put my words into actions. 2009 seems to be the right time and so I just registered as a resetter: RESET is a non-profit organization. Its key role is turning public attention toward sustainable development and efficiently using donations...

Dear all, I know the service for a while, but the last time I checked, there weren’t that many cool concert online. Now there is a huge amount of cool stuff you can watch for free. Happy New Year!
Well, it may be a little bit late, but I hope you all had a good start into the year 2009. What will it bring? Probably not too many good things. For example, since the gas price is falling again Americans are no longer interested in hybrid cars. Instead they drive their gas hungry monsters as if nothing has happened. Funny enough, that’s exactly what Obama “predicted”. And...
